Preferring to work with the mainstays of Rock guitars, Mayes plays a Fender Strat (HSS for anyone interested) and an Epiphone Les Paul. Clichéd? Perhaps. Unoriginal? Maybe. Do they sound good? Of course they do.
 
Mayes fills out the EtherCity sound with some tasty licks, riffs and some other aural treats (note the spelling of aural - he doesn't want to be confused for a groupie).
 
If he mentions his Whammy bar, it's probably not what you think.
